MacBook Pros that are compatible
To run MacOS Monterey, you’ll need a MacBook Pro from early 2015 to mid-2015 or later. Monterey will be supported on all subsequent MacBook Pros; up to and including the 16-inch and 14-inch devices announced in 2021. It doesn’t matter how big or how many Thunderbolt ports your MacBook Pro has as long as it’s inside this time frame.

Macbook Airs that are compatible
MacBook Air devices from early 2015 forward will support Monterey, much like MacBook Pros. Models manufactured before to 2015 will not be able to be upgraded. Mac Minis are one of the few alternatives with models compatible till 2014. MacOS Monterey support on the Mac Mini 2014, 2018, and 2020 models.
Mac Studio Compatibility
This comes as no surprise, considering the newly launched 2022 Mac Studio has Monterey ready to use right out of the box.
Mac Pros that are compatible
MacOS Monterey will run on both the late 2013 and 2019 Mac Pros.
Is Universal Control compatible with previous MacOS versions?
No. Universal Control is a Monterey-exclusive feature that allows you to swap content between Monterey Macs, iPads, and MacBooks. To utilize the functionality, you’ll need Monterey or the appropriate iPadOS update on your PC. You’ll also need the most recent Monterey update (2022), which includes this functionality.
