• Small and lightweight:
Due to the use of lightweight lithium and carbon electrodes, lithium-ion batteries may be substantially smaller and lighter than older battery types such as lead-acid batteries. A lithium-ion battery with a typical 51Ah rating weighs around 6-7 kilogrammes, which is nearly the same as a lead-acid battery with the same ampere-hour rating.

It takes three Ni-MH batteries to match the output of a single lithium-ion battery, whose average voltage is 3.6V while the NiMH battery’s average voltage is 1.2V.
• Longer battery life:
High-quality lithium-ion batteries have a lifespan of around 1000 charge cycles. If you use your battery until it reaches 75% capacity and then put it in to recharge, this is not a full charge cycle, since it is not a complete charge cycle. After a full recharge, your battery may still be utilised for 75% of its capacity; only then has the battery completed a full charge cycle.
• The rate of self-discharge is quite low.
Similarly, the rate of self-discharge for lithium-ion batteries is quite low. Self-discharge is a natural, irreversible process that occurs even when a battery is not in use. The batteries’ capacity degrades as a result of chemical processes occurring inside them. Lithium-ion batteries have a self-discharge rate of around 5% within the first 24 hours after charging, which decreases to approximately 1% each month. In contrast, nickel-based rechargeable batteries lose 10 to 15% of their capacity with each charge and an additional 10 to 15% every month.
Low-resistance materials are used in lithium iron phosphate batteries, which are inherently safe and highly stable. Even when fully charged, LFP batteries have a thermal runaway threshold of 518 degrees Fahrenheit, making them one of the safest lithium battery options.
