Introduction
The battle between Android and iPhone has been going on ever since Apple launched their first iPhone. But lately, the battle has been close and mostly titled in favor of android. This is because Apple has been recently slow to implement new features to their phones, and Android smartphone manufacturers have been on a launch spree. For example- 120 Hz refresh rate screens, In-display fingerprint sensors, etc., are already available in Android devices, which cost 1/4th of that of Apple.
So the story is currently this; Apple has an older user base tag associated with it, and Android is for the younger audiences. On a side note, if you want to start an iPhone reselling business and are looking forward to buying wholesale iPhones online, then check this out.
Apple’s own product image lineup does not help either. Apple is still making compact and small phones when the entire world prefers larger screen devices and only a tiny portion prefers lightweight and nimble devices. This is because most media consumption happens on the go using mobile devices rather than television and tablets. But Apple released mini versions of their phones and SE editions of the iPhone models too.
iPhone SE 3
The iPhone SE 3 is the only iPhone with a Touch ID security mechanism, which is a welcome addition compared to the present situation where we always have to wear masks. Face ID is a truly remarkable invention, but it sometimes does not work when we wear masks or other face wear. Touch ID will always work regardless of this fact. But the display size is 4.7 inches and looks exactly the same as iPhone 8. This is not to say that their display is by any means bad, but it’s just not the right fit in 2022. The display resolution is a little over 720p, and Apple says its liquid retina type and supports a wide color gamut. Also, the battery is a 2000 mAh capacity, and Apple says it can last a user an entire day depending on regular usage. The iPhone SE 3 also supports Wireless charging tech.
Samsung A53
Samsung A53 is a recently launched mid-range device that directly competes with the value flagship devices in the $400 to $500 price range. In order to provide users with a 5G internet connectivity experience at an affordable price point, Samsung decided to use their in house chipset, Exynos 1280, based on the 5nm manufacturing process. The performance, however, is below the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G levels. So gamers buying this phone will be disappointed, and they should consider buying the iPhone SE 3 or even the iPhone 11, for that matter. This is because Apple’s bionic chipset from 3 years ago can provide better performance than this new Exynos. Samsung did this intentionally as they expect people who are interested in the Android ecosystem and camera performance to buy this phone and not performance enthusiasts.
However, the camera module is the same as the A52 from last year, and it is not a bad thing. This is because Samsung has improved the ISP camera processing chip in Exynos, and they even upgraded the camera’s artificial intelligence capabilities. So, in essence, you will be getting an improved camera and a better and bigger display but have to compromise on gaming performance. To compensate for that, Samsung has promised up to four years of software os and security updates on A53.
iPhone SE 3 Vs Samsung A53
Although both of these devices are 5G ready and are available at almost similar price points, they are suitable for different types of users. For example-iPhone SE 3 is suitable for those users who want the latest chipset from Apple and the world’s best performing mobile device in a smaller form factor. They already are heavily invested in Apple’s ecosystem and use an iPad or iMac or Macbook, or an Apple TV for their media consumption and work purposes. They just want a fast and reliable phone at an affordable price.
The Samsung A53 would suit those buyers who want an affordable but flagship camera capability and a good battery life. They don’t care much about performance, but they need a 120Hz display refresh rate and a smooth overall experience.
Conclusion
Both the devices are available in a wide range of colors and configurations and offer a value for money experience for their users, but they come at a cost. The cost comes in terms of design and form factor for the iPhone. For Samsung, the cost comes in terms of performance.
